Sunset falls over Seattle outside El Centro de la Raza’s Centilia Cultural Center. On Saturday, November 7, 2026, the City of Seattle’s 2026 2SLGBTQIA Community Resource Event will be held at El Centro de la Raza, Centilia Cultural Center. Whether finding a new place to live, or learning to navigate the transit system, everyone deserves to get the support they need. That’s why the Seattle Office for Civil Rights is hosting this event in collaboration with community organizations, city agencies, and regional service providers. This event is a space to connect newly arrived and long-standing 2SLGBTQIA+ community members with resources, information, and one another.
This event is a part of the City of Seattle’s 2SLGBTQIA+ Rapid Relief Action Plan which includes $550,000 in new investments to support 2SLGBTQIA+communities.

Planning with Community
The Seattle Office for Civil Rights (SOCR) recently hosted an interactive planning workshop with the Seattle LGBTQ+ Commission, Mayor’s Office, and the Human Services Department to support planning of the 2026 2SLGBTQIA+ Resource Event and gather input on the rapid relief distribution process.
This workshop created valuable space for community partners and City staff to share ideas, ask questions, and discuss what’s needed. The City thanks the Seattle LGBTQ Commission for bringing invaluable community perspective to the planning process and creating space for community to inform this work. We are deeply grateful for the commissioners’ participation, time, and partnership as we continue this work.
What’s Next
Over the coming days, SOCR will continue working with community groups to receive input to help ensure that this process is rooted in the needs and priorities of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and the organizations that serve them.
The rapid relief funding process is still being finalized. Details about this opportunity will be shared in our next update.

Note: What does 2SLGBTQIA+ mean?
2SLGBTQIA+ is an acronym that stands for Two‑Spirit, Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer or Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, and others. It is a broad term that includes many sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.
- Two-Spirit, is a term used by some Indigenous people across the U.S. and Canada to describe someone whose spirit includes more than one gender. It is placed first in the acronym to honor Indigenous peoples and recognize how Indigenous people have cultural understandings of gender and sexuality long before modern LGBT terms.
- The “+” shows that there are more identities included than the letters listed.
