Seattle Announces $550,000 in New Investments for 2SLGBTQIA Communities

Whether you were born here or have newly arrived, every single person has a rightful place in this city. We are investing in the needs of our 2SLGBTQIA+ communities to make Seattle a safe and welcoming place during a time of uncertainty.

Responding to Community Input

Based on community input and the recommendations of the Trans & Queer Community Stabilization Interdepartmental Team, we are moving forward with the following measures in 2026:

  • $450,000 in rapid relief funding for 2SLGBTQIA+ community-based organizations, to support urgent stabilization needs
  • $100,000 for a community resources and services event that will feature local service providers, City resources and services, modest material relief (e.g. ORCA cards and other resources), and information for and support with the enrollment processes

Shaping the Funding Process with Community

We are currently developing recipient eligibility criteria and designing the selection process with input from communities and will share more information in the coming weeks. At this time, no funding has been awarded. We will also pursue additional funding to support 2SLGBTQIA+ communities in 2027 and beyond.

We look forward to providing updates throughout these processes.
