Domestic Violence Awareness Event: Shattering Stigma through Knowledge

A day of learning how to break the stigmas related to domestic violence.

Please join the Seattle Women’s Commission for an event during Domestic Violence Awareness Month on Saturday, October 15 from 12:00 – 4:00pm at Seattle City Hall.

The theme of the event is “Shattering Stigma through Knowledge.” This is a hybrid event.

The Commission hopes to shatter the many stigmas related to domestic violence (including sexual assault and sexual exploitation) and learn how to make access to aid and resources more easily available to people who have been affected by domestic violence. Stigma is a very real barrier to people who feel ashamed of being victimized by abuse and trauma.

The Commission intends to make people aware of ways they can offer help and support if they see or are aware of domestic violence or trauma in their family or communities.
